On this Feast of Pentecost, we release one pure white dove to symbolize the resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We release a flock of white doves to symbolize the hope and promise of everlasting life that is our gift from God.
The releasing of the doves raises our eyes up and fills our hearts with joy and peace in the sacred promise from above, to those whose hearts are open to the miracle of God's grace and love.
Come, Holy Spirit come.
Come as the wind and cleanse.
Come as the fire and burn.
Come as the light and shine.
Convict us.
Convert us.
Until we are wholly thine. Amen.
